On December 4th, Elizabeth P. Allen, the Firm’s Elder Law Attorney, was a speaker for the education series at the University of South Florida called “What Every Dr. Needs to Know about Elder Law.” The presentation was to third year medical students in USF’s Doctoring course.  Ms. Allen talked about the legal aspects of advance healthcare directives, legal and financial issues facing the older population as health declines and the interplay of the legal and medical professions with seniors and their families. Ms. Allen discussed the importance of cooperation between physicians and lawyers in working for the best interest and outcomes of their clients/patients.
