Certain Medicaid income and asset standards are adjusted beginning each January in accordance with changes in the SSI federal benefit rate (FBR) and the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Likewise, maximum benefit amounts under the VA Pension Program are adjusted each year based upon the CPI.  For 2018 , the new figures are:

  • SSI FBR = $750
  • Medicaid income cap = $2,250
  • Medicaid Community Spousal resource Allowance = $123,600
  • Medicaid minimum and maximum monthly maintenance allowance = $2,030 – $,3090
  • Max monthly VA Pension benefit with Aid & Attendance- single veteran = $1,830
  • Max monthly VA Pension benefit with Aid & Attendance- married veteran = $2,170
  • Max monthly VA Pension benefit with Aid & Attendance- surviving spouse of veteran = $1,176
